Elementary 41
Elementary #41 is under construction at 6525 South Wheatlands Parkway in the Wheatlands neighborhood, east of the Southlands Shopping Center. Scheduled to open in August 2010, Elementary #41 will serve families in eastern portions of the district, where enrollment growth could push existing schools over capacity by 2012. The school will be led by Principal Darin Carney, who was most recently principal of Mission Viejo Elementary.

As the Planning Team is moving forward with preparing for an August 2010 opening, we need your help. Please submit any names that you think would be a great fit for the new school. Please keep in mind, per CCSD policy, we cannot name it after a person, neighborhood or current school. Once we get names submitted the Planning Team will narrow the choices down to three names and submit for approval from the Board of Education in early spring 2010.

December 17, 2009

Welcome to the community of Elementary #41. My name is Darin Carney and I have been given the distinct pleasure of being named Principal. If you have not seen the progress of the school; you would be amazed as it is really taking shape. How exciting! I have hired a planning team that is assisting me with the designing of the building as well as curriculum and programs that will be in place for your students beginning in August 2010. [More]

Elementary 41 Boundary Recommendation
October 09, 2009

A subcommittee, including LRFPC members, school principals and executive directors for schools that might be impacted by the new school, began by developing a list of values and criteria that boundary options would be evaluated against.
